Alison Barton reports on her Morocco Royal Tour 2018

By 29th October 2018News

Well what can I say … we have been extremely lucky to have been given the chance to compete in Morocco for a three week tour of back to back 4* Shows and it has been well worth the 5 day it took to drive here from Yorkshire.  The first show was in Tetouan, where I had an amazing show. Roma and I finished 2nd in Sunday’s 1.60 Grand Prix which set us of to a great start. The second show we went to was in the capital Rabat, where they held the FEI Nations Cup Team round with our team finishing in 5th place. The third show was indoor in El Jadida and we picked up a good placing on the first day.

I had my first opportunity to play polo in Rabat, which I enjoyed enormously, very different to show jumping!

On the way back to the show we came across a stray puppy who was looking very poor so we stopped by the road side and rescued him.  Im pleased to say we found him a great home in Morocco where he is recovering and doing well.  For me that was one of the highlights of the trip as I hate to see any animal struggling!

We are currently in Oliva Nova, Valencia, Spain competing with some young horses for another three weeks. Next month I will update you with our results!
