Brand Ambassador Ellie writes about her summer showjumping

By 25th September 2018News, Uncategorised

Our Junior Brand Ambassador Ellie McNeil has had a busy summer of competing at championships around the country. Whilst the odd rosette was collected, more importantly there was plenty of fun and much learnt from the experience.

At the British Showjumping Championships at Stoneleigh, Ellie and her horse Lily were selected for the FEI random drugs test! Lily kindly provided a urine sample for the Vet and bloods were taken for checking.  It’s always worth ensuring that you are giving your horse feeds and supplements which you trust, you never know when it could be you chosen!

On to the Pony Club Championships at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire and a fourth place for the York and Ainsty South Pony Club in the Intermediate Showjumping! Ellie also rode in the novice dressage gaining a very respectable 67%, only 4% off the winning score.

The Riding Club Championships at Lincoln finished the hat trick of national competitions. Again, just 4 faults was the difference between been the champion and finishing 5th. Ellie rode the fastest time in the intermediate showjumping but nudged one pole dropping her off the top spot.

Not to be disheartened by what could have been, Ellie is more determined than ever to train and have another go next year. With the backing of Vet Way’s fabulous product selection, she is confident in achieving top results and getting the all clear if she is chosen for the drugs test in the future!
