KRUUSE B.A.L Catheter is used to perform Bronchoalveolar lavage(BAL), a process of inserting a sterile solution into the lungs to collect cells and fluid from the respiratory tract. This is a procedure used to diagnose lung diseases, bacterial, viral and fungal infections. The fluid collected from the Bronchoalveolar lavage(BAL) will indicate the variety and volume of immune cells allowing for a diagnose and treatment plan. BAL fluid analysis can also be used to monitor a patients response to treatment.
